http://backpackwinecompany.com/shop/ Continuing the TBT trend, this is another bag that I have ready to send to my friends at the Coach Archive in NYC. This is a very early toiletry kit… it is the same leather, binding, and lining of the 50’s suitcase that I previously sent to Jed Winokur. It’s a GORGEOUS piece of Coach history. It shows the early craftsmanship of Coach and has one of the very first tags that Coach used on their bags. I have seen a tag cut in the shape of a steer’s head… it seems to be have been made from the top portion of this tag. Which came first… steer head, steer hide, baseball? Who knows…it’s part of the legacy and mystery of the early Coach days! This kit is also interesting in that it has the first stagecoach logo. I haven’t seen that on a very early bag. It will be interesting to see what Jed has to say about this little beauty. I’ll update once he’s had a chance to look at it.
